A Parish at Work

A Parish at Work

From the Parish Pastoral Council

At the Parish Pastoral Council Meeting on Tuesday 11 July 2000, we discussed among other things and resolved the following matters:-

The AGM is to be held on Sunday, 20 August in the Parish Centre at 11.00am. Nominations for the Parish Pastoral Council are now open.

The Official Installation of the New Parish Pastoral Council will be held the following Sunday, 27 August during the 8.30am Mass followed by an International Lunch at Noon.

The Parish Jubilee Awards (as I have mentioned to you earlier on) are now decided. We have nominated six parishioners to the Archbishop to receive the "Jubilee Service Award" in Appreciation of Outstanding Service. These six parishioners will receive the Award Certificate also on Sunday, 27 August during the 8.30am.

The Annual Financial Appeal - DEDICATION SUNDAY - will be held on Sunday, 13 August. This will be a particularly important Sunday for our Parish.

On the occasion of the Jubilee Year we have resolved to authorise a small committed committee to write the history of our parish - a hard task to take! Further details later on.

Also, we have agreed to make a financial contribution from the parish funds towards the World Youth Rally in Rome via two of our young parishioners: Dominic Seeber and Phillip Russell who are sponsored by the Servite College to attend the Rally in Rome.

World Youth Rally in Rome

Today at the 8.30am Mass we farewell Phillip Russell and Dominic Seeber on their way to the World Youth Rally in Rome. We shall make them a presentation as well as wish them a very successful pilgrimage. We shall hear from them on their return from Rome. In the Porch we have prepared two cards of good wishes for those who may wish to sign them.

Great Jubilee Year Pilgrimage

We would like to encourage as many parishioners as we can to attend the Parish Jubilee Pilgrimage to Fremantle. The date is set for Sunday 30 July. We gather at St Patrick’s Basilica for a Jubilee Mass at 12.30pm followed by lunch in a restaurant. Some people may like to bring their own picnic lunch and enjoy it at the beach or in the park. If anybody has no transport please let us know. Transport will be organised. Also, would those intending to attend please indicate to us on the prepared sheet in the porch

Confirmation Day

Our Parish Confirmation Day is set for Sunday 17 September at 2.00pm. If there are any other candidates from the State Schools students who wish to be confirmed at the same Celebration please let me know.
