The Year that was 2003!
Dear Parishioners,
Usually at this time of the year we look back to see how we have fared and whether the past year was as good and kind as it used to be. From the parish point of view, I think it was!
In general we have to say that during 2003 we have lost few parishioners through death. May the Good Lord reward them for all the prayers and all the good they may have done through their journey of faith.
However, I am happy to report that 2003 was another good year for us. Just a few reminders will help us to recognise the good we have done together in the interest of our Christian Community.
Our Annual Lenten Preparation and Easter Celebration
Our Annual Maria Annunziata Parish Celebration
Our Annual Celebrations of First Reconciliation and Holy Communion
Annual Parish Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation
Our substantial contribution to the education of our children via our school
A Successful Annual Dedication Sunday in June
Annual Advent/Christmas Preparation/Celebration
Another very successful Christmas HelpLine (2003) - more than 80 Calls.
Very sincere thanks to Paul Russell who maintains and updates our parish
website.
We all understand that these celebrations and activities just couldn't happen without the participation of so many parishioners young and not so young. Among other things I just like to mention the Home Masses during Lent and the Advent Triduum 2003. They were well received and attended, fruitful and successful.
On this occasion I would also like to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for your financial support and your kind co-operation and participation through the year. As a happy parish family we can work together and achieve good results as any other happy family.
Fr Michael
